Do you ever wonder what lurks beneath the surface of the stream? Learn about the natural history of
macroinvertebrates (aquatic insects, crustaceans, and worms) that live on the stream bottom and how
these animals can be used as indicators of stream health.
Join StroudTM Water Research Center educators for this introductory hands-on workshop during which
participants will learn simple techniques to collect and identify macroinvertebrates and to determine
what these animals can indicate about stream health. The day will include discussion, field, and lab
time. Emphasis will be on learning identification skills.
Please dress for the field and if you have them, bring rubber boots. You will also need to provide your
own lunch.
Space is limited. Sign up soon!
